Eva Lunny
Sonics & Meditations
BELLA1479 // 9 June 2023
Producer, musician, and composer Eva Lunny shapes sonically diverse soundscapes and neoclassical harp pieces, building on themes of memory, space, spiritual growth and meditation. Her influences include jazz-harp pioneers Dorothy Ashby and Alice Coltrane, as well as a collection of contemporary ambient and neoclassical musicians.
Eva’s process includes hours of improvisation balanced with considered production and free-flowing experimentation, resulting in complex layers of sounds and distinctive distortion of a both uniquely classical and contemporary instrument. Written and recorded between 2020-2021, Sonics and Meditations reflects on feelings of inertia, translating a year of uncertainty into cascading sonic rhythms and ambient contemplation.
