Critical acclaim for Beings, out now on Bella Union:

“Their most affecting and cohesive album to date.” MOJO – 4 Stars ****

“For a band who floated in on waves of lilting dream-pop about five years ago, Wilde’s resilient chamber-pop outsiders prove remarkably adept at darker, tougher dramas on Beings… As the swelling title-track epically proves, Lanterns can brood with the best.” The Independent On Sunday – 4 Stars ****

“Mature, sophisticated and quietly stirring indie rock… Lanterns On The Lake are making rock music that, in terms of how vital it feels in 2015, is criminally unsung.” DIY – 4 Stars ****

“A spine-tinglingly atmospheric collection of thought-provoking tracks, abundant in gentle melancholy and fuzzy reverb. Frontwoman Hazel Wilde’s beautiful voice is reminiscent of Karen O, not only in tone but in is ability to transform from an icy delicate whisper into a gutsy howl within a heartbeat.” The Sun – 4 Stars ****

“The key element remains Hazel Wilde’s vocals, by turns persuasive and inquisitive, lending epic pieces like ‘Of Dust And Matter’ and the title track an edgy beauty.” Sunday Express – 4 Stars ****

“Another heart-rendingly beautiful release, comprising dynamic post-rock atmospherics and tender revelations with rich and tasteful production throughout… An absorbing listen from start to finish.” Guitar & Bass – 8/10

“Bridging an imagined gap between Mogwai and Beach House, Lanterns On The Lake create a dynamic atmospheric swirl on Beings using creeping builds, dizzying drops and dark lyrical drama.”

“There’s a clear confidence in their third album, seen in ‘Of Dust & Matter’, which begins with the sound of radio static, and in which singer Hazel Wilde’s vocals build to a thrilling Siouxsie Sioux holler.” Uncut – 7/10

“Lanterns On The Lake continue to maintain their commitment to producing high quality soundscapes with a unique sensibility. Beings is haunting and delicate, a truly excellent work, that rarely falters.” The Skinny – 4 Stars ****

“One of Britain’s most crucial bands of the present moment.” Drowned In Sound – 8/10

Lanterns On The Lake recently unveiled a video to current single “Faultlines“. Directed by HandHeldCineClub this beautiful, dark and intense film centres on one man’s desperate situation and chimes with the song’s themes of “Fractured lives like faultlines…” Click HERE to watch.
