Nice interview with Andrew about ‘Break It Yourself’ up now on The Quietus.
Watch a lovely video of Andrew Bird over on Pitchfork. “Break It Yourself” out next week on Bella Union!
Ahead of their headlining show at London’s Scala on Sunday 1st April and an upcoming five week tour of the US as special guests of M83 (those dates below), I Break Horses & CSLSX share their collaborative effort ‘Violent Sea‘, which includes the first new work from the band since the release of debut album ‘Hearts’ in August 2011.
The video, which collates imagery from avant-garde filmmaker Maya Deren, is the perfect accompaniment to this new track and more than whets the appetite for further work from these two enigmatic bands (who are rumoured to be working on an EP together). Little is known about Philadelphia collective CSLSX, and Stockholm’s reclusive I Break Horses have only made a handful of live appearances to date, so if this track is anything to go by, this could be the start of something very special indeed…

Zun Zun Egui have been nominated for The Quietus’ award for 6 Music.
Words from The Quietus:
Our friends at Now Playing on BBC 6 Music have asked us to put together a category in their 6 Music Blog Awards, airing this Friday. We’ve decided that the Quietus award will be for Tomorrow’s Cult Star Today – the artists that, right now, are perhaps not setting the charts afire but will become influential and irritatingly collectable on vinyl in the future. The show airs on March 2 from 7pm, and our shortlist can be found below. We want you to go and vote for which artist you think will be Tomorrow’s Cult Star Today over on our facebook. Nominations are:
So head over and vote for ZZE now!
Feline Friday #5
It is with great regret that we missed Feline Friday last week. However, I feel that Feline Friday should not be limited to only being posted on “Friday”, as the spirit of the Feline drifts throughout the week. Above is an image too good not to share.
Many questions arise, mostly, why is the feline sitting in that way? How did it get such a huge double chin?
Think about it.
Feline Friday will resume as normal on Friday.
Thanks to Laura Snapes for the above image, which she titled “The Grand Emperor of Fashion”.
